PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum pump in which an electric motor for driving a pump rotor can be simply constructed at low cost and which is suitable for supplying relative high torque during operation.SOLUTION: A vacuum pump, particularly, a rotary vane pump, a stroke piston pump, a Roots pump or a screw pump has a pump rotor which is rotatable around the rotational axis to pump fluid through the vacuum pump, a rotor having an electric motor for driving the pump rotor, the electric motor comprises a rotor being rotatable when the pump rotor is driven, and a stator 11 which interacts with the rotor and whose basic shape is a ring-shape.
