PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which offers compactness, a high zoom ratio, and a superior optical performance over an entire zoom range, and to provide an image capturing device having the same.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power, a third lens group having positive refractive power, and a rear group having one or more lens groups in order from the object side to the image side, where distance between each adjacent pair of lens groups changes while zooming. The second lens group comprises, in order from the object side to the image side, a first lens subgroup having negative refractive power, and a second lens subgroup that moves in a direction having a component perpendicular to an optical axis to shift an imaging position, the second lens subgroup including a positive lens and negative lens and having negative refractive power as a whole. A focal length f2 of the second lens group, a focal length fw of the entire system at a wide-angle end, and refractive index N2n of a material of the negative lens in the second lens subgroup are each set appropriately.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
