PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked gelatin sponge in which there are provided a plurality of vacant pores having a shape and a size suitable for cell culture and each of the vacant pores is in communication with each other, and to provide a production method therefor.SOLUTION: The problem can be solved by use of a crosslinked gelatin sponge having a plurality of cavity parts provided within the gelatin substrate and in which the gelatin substrate is formed of gelatin having molecular bridges, the cavity parts are substantially spherical, the cavity parts have a diameter of 20 μm or more and 1000 μm or less, and the cavity parts are in communication with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
