PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device that directly seals a developer while making magnetic force of a magnetic seal member to effectively act at an end in the width direction of a developer carrier, and is capable of exhibiting a stable sealing property over a long period of time even when adapted to high speeding.SOLUTION: A development device (11) comprises: a developer carrier (12) disposed in a development container (110) so as to be capable of carrying and conveying a developer (t); and a magnetic field generating member (12a) that makes the developer carrier carry the developer (t) by magnetic force. Further, the development device (11) comprises a magnetic seal member (15g) that is disposed opposite to the developer carrier (12) with a gap therebetween, at an end of the developer carrier (12) in the width direction crossing a developer conveyance direction (F) and performs magnetic sealing between the magnetic seal member and the developer carrier (12). Further, the development device (11) comprises a contact seal member (15e) that is fixed to a surface (15n) of the magnetic seal member (15g), opposite to the developer carrier (12) and elastically contacts with the developer carrier (12).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
