PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set an evaluation region for a subject that a photographer intends, and to perform stabler control using a signal from the evaluation region.SOLUTION: An image processing device has setting means of setting an evaluation region for acquiring an evaluation signal to be used for predetermined evaluation for an image in which one of kinds of a plurality of subjects is assigned to each subject region. The setting means sets the evaluation region such that when a first kind of subject region is included in the evaluation region to be set, the first kind of subject region is included, and changes a setting of the evaluation region such that when the first kind of subject region is not included in the evaluation region to be set, a border between a subject region included in the evaluation region and a subject region of a kind different from the kind of the subject region is included.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
