PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To physically feel present situations at various placed on a remote site with a rich realistic sensation.SOLUTION: A sound collection/reproduction system includes an area sound selection section, an area sound volume adjustment section and a stereo acoustic processing section. In the area sound selection section, a microphone array required for collecting sounds from areas within a space is selected, the sounds are collected from all the areas by using the selected microphone array for each area and among collected area sounds from all the areas, an area sound from the area corresponding to a designated listening position and area sounds from areas around the area corresponding to a listening direction are selected in accordance with an acoustic reproduction environment. The area sound volume adjustment section adjusts a sound volume of each area sound selected by the area sound selection section in accordance with a distance from the designated listening position. The stereo acoustic processing section performs stereo acoustic processing on each area sound of which the sound volume is adjusted by the area sound volume adjustment section, while using a transfer function corresponding to the acoustic reproduction environment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
