PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lateral rigidity increasing device that is able to actively enhance the lateral rigidity of a press machine and is able to restrict a gib gap change, column vibration, and so on.SOLUTION: In a lateral rigidity increasing device 200 for a press machine 100, the press machine 100 has: a plurality of columns 55 disposed between a crown 51 and a bed 52; a slide 53 supported between the columns so as to freely slide; and a slide driving mechanism that raises/lowers the slide 53. The press machine 100 comprises; a hydraulic cylinder 1 disposed so as to connect the plurality of columns 55 and configured to generate tensile force between the columns 55 during press formation with the slide 53; and a hydraulic circuit 210 and a lateral rigidity control part 220, which control tensile force generated by the hydraulic cylinder 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
