PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolator capable of causing a frictional resistance force for attenuating vibrations to have a speed dependence.SOLUTION: A seismic isolator 1 is a seismic isolator 1 interposed between an upper structure 50 and a lower structure 51. The seismic isolator 1 comprises: a support member 2 connected to the upper structure 50; a storage part 10 connected to the lower structure 51 for storing a viscous body 3; and a curved member 4 having an upper face 4A of a curved recess shape and a lower face 4B shaped to correspond to the upper face 4A and having an upper face abutting against an abutment face 2c of the support member 2. The support member 2 slides and moves with respect to the upper face 4A thereby to establish a frictional resistance force, and the curved member 4 rolls on the storage part 10 and along the shape of the lower face 4B thereby to flow a viscous body 3 of the storage part 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
