PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely align a sheet to be loaded.SOLUTION: A sheet alignment device aligns a sheet to be loaded. The sheet alignment device includes: a sheet loading part to load a sheet transported from a sheet transport part; a beating part that is disposed on a downstream side in a transport direction of the sheet transported from the sheet transport part in the sheet loading part and beats a sheet surface of the sheet loaded on the sheet loading part from a direction to load the sheet; and a covering part to cover a part of the beating part close to the sheet transport part in a state in which the beating part is separated from the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 18
