PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that an electrolysis cell using a solid polymer electrolyte membrane is not only expensive but also has a possibility of being damaged when the pressure difference between hydrogen gas and oxygen gas is large, that a method by electrolyzing water brings about a long distance between electrodes for separation between hydrogen gas and oxygen gas to increase a heat loss, and that the hydrogen gas and the oxygen gas perform a work to push the atmosphere when electrolyzing under the atmospheric pressure so that an energy loss (heat loss) is generated.SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing hydrogen according to the present invention comprises a metallic anode, a metallic cathode, and a separation sheet which allows ions existing between the anode and the cathode to pass but does not allow electrons to pass, which are immersed inside a pressure container filled with an electrolyte in a sealed state. The oxygen generated from the anode dissolves in the electrolyte and the hydrogen gas generated from the cathode becomes bubbles by electrolyzing the electrolyte. The hydrogen gas is taken out by submitting the high pressure electrolyte to gas liquid separation, and the oxygen is taken out by decompressing the electrolyte.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
