PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power loss at the standby time of a motor in a control method of not stopping operation of a motor drive device at the standby time of the motor.SOLUTION: A full-bridge circuit 61 including a plurality of switching elements controls current to be supplied to a motor coil 71. A clock supply circuit 63 supplies a clock signal to a control circuit 62. The control circuit 62 supplies a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal to each of control terminals of two switching elements for forming a current path of the motor coil 71. At the standby time of a motor, the control circuit 62 supplies PWM signals having phases reverse to each other to the control terminals of the two switching elements. The clock supply circuit 63 reduces a frequency of the clock signal for generating the PWM signals at the standby time of the motor 70.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
