PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which enables smooth operation of a movable plunger and a movable contact piece during a turn-off action and a turn-on action.SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic contactor 1, a hermetically sealed housing chamber 4 for housing a contact mechanism 2, a coupling shaft 37 and a movable plunger 35 is configured such that a contact mechanism housing space A for housing the contact mechanism 2 and a movable plunger housing space B for housing the movable plunger 35 are divided from each other by a dividing member 10 through which the coupling shaft 37 is inserted. A peripheral collar housing space B1 for housing a peripheral collar 35c of the movable plunger 35 and a lower space B2 formed under a cylindrical part 35a of the movable plunger 35 are formed in the movable plunger housing space B. The dividing member 10 is provided with a first communication part 15 for connecting the contact mechanism housing space A and the peripheral collar housing space B1 to each other. At the same time, the housing chamber 4 or the cylindrical part 35a is provided with a second communication part 40 for connecting the peripheral collar housing space B1 and the lower space B2 to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
