PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To coat an active material layer forming a part of an electrode with a thin overcoat layer including electrically insulating particles as a primary component in such a way that the creation of concavity in the overcoat layer is suppressed.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrode comprises an overcoat layer-forming step (ceramic slurry coating step S4) for forming an electrically insulating overcoat layer on the surface of an active material layer formed on at least one face of a collector. In the overcoat layer-forming step, a slurry arranged by dispersing a granular overcoat material (ceramic particles) for forming the overcoat layer and a binder in solvent is applied to the collector with the active material layer formed thereon so as to cover the active material layer. The slurry satisfies the following condition: the solid content percentage (%) of the overcoat material in the slurry is smaller than a value given by 100×(Film thickness of the overcoat layer)/(Particle diameter of an active material constituting the active material layer).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
