PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece brake wheel assembly that addresses the problem of an angular play in a gear train, through the use of friction.SOLUTION: A brake wheel assembly 1 includes an arbor 2. The arbor 2 comprises a first surface 3 cooperating, to guide pivoting, with a second surface 4 of a wheel 5 pivotally mounted on the arbor 2 around a pivot axis D. The second surface 4 includes one brake surface 11 of a brake shoe 12 subjected to the action of a first spring 13, the first spring 13 is formed in one-piece with the wheel 5 and is arranged on the first surface 3 to exert radial force to the pivot D. The assembly 1 includes a notch 23 for forming a comb or toothing arranged to retain a finger-piece 15 for adjusting a discrete value of friction exerted by the brake surface 11 on the first surface 3.
