PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce power consumption during intermittent operation in a communication apparatus that relays communication.SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes: a signal processing section that detects a state of communication; a startup determination section that detects a state of a terminal and that determines whether to start up the communication apparatus under a power saving state where only a function required during an intermittent operation is operating in a power supply interruption state; an intermittent operation determination section that determines whether to cause the communication apparatus to perform the intermittent operation under a normal state where all the functions of the communication apparatus are operating, on the basis of detection results of the signal processing section and the startup determination section; a power supply interruption determination section that determines whether to stop power supply to the communication apparatus under a state where the communication apparatus is operating in the power saving state; a power supply section that stops power supply to the communication apparatus on the basis of a determination result of the power supply interruption determination section or the intermittent operation determination section; and a startup section that starts up the communication apparatus under the normal state or the power saving state on the basis of the determination result of the startup determination section or the power supply interruption determination section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
