PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that can achieve the number of colors of sub-pixels and apparent resolution.SOLUTION: The image display device includes: an image display unit in which a first pixel composed of sub-pixels of three or more colors included in a first color gamut and a second pixel composed of sub-pixels of three or more colors included in a second color gamut different from the first color gamut are arranged in a matrix and the first pixel and the second pixel adjoin to each other; a signal processing unit 21 that determines an output of a sub-pixel possessed by the first pixel based on a component of an input image signal corresponding to the first pixel and on a component out of the color gamut of an input image signal corresponding to the second pixel; and an edge determination unit 22 that determines whether or not an input image signal corresponding to the second pixel corresponds to an edge of an image. When the input image signal corresponding to the second pixel corresponds to an input image signal corresponding to an edge of the image, the signal processing unit 21 does not reflect the component out of the color gamut on an output of a sub-pixel of the first pixel not adjoining to the sub-pixel where an output of light is performed in the second pixel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
