PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately perform proximity photographing even if focusing cannot be obtained at the time of proximity photographing.SOLUTION: In a state where an arbitrary zoom stage is set within a range of a wide angle side and a telephoto side of a zoom lens 6B, a control unit 1 determines whether focusing on a subject is obtained in the set zoom stage at the time of proximity photographing, and when determining that focusing cannot be obtained, drives the zoom lens 6B to switch the zoom stage.
