PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary hearth furnace where the sensible heat of an exhaust has in a furnace is effectively utilized, and the productivity of reduced iron can be improved.SOLUTION: Provided is a rotary hearth furnace used for producing reduced iron by heating an agglomerate including an iron oxide-containing substance and a carbonaceous reducing agent, reducing the iron oxide to produce reduced iron. The rotary hearth furnace comprises: means where the agglomerate is fed to the surface of the furnace hearth in the rotary hearth furnace; means where the object to be heated in the rotary hearth furnace is exhausted to the outside of the furnace; and means where the exhaust gas in the rotary hearth furnace is exhausted to the outside of the furnace, and having a heating section and a non-heating section, and also, the means of exhausting the exhaust gas to the outside of the furnace is provided at the non-heating section, and means of charging the open-air to the inside of the furnace is provided in the non-heating section and on the side at the upstream side than the means of exhausting the exhaust gas to the outside of the furnace.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
