PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulosic material that can be suitably used for manufacturing a member excellent in strength or the like while having characteristics of cellulose, and to provide a member (cellulosic member) excellent in strength or the like while having characteristics of cellulose.SOLUTION: The cellulosic material of the present invention comprises a cellulose derivative; and the cellulose derivative includes a liquid crystalline functional group.
