PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental improvement material for a sea area and an environmental improvement method for a sea area using the material, for controlling pH values within a predetermined range, securing water permeability, and bringing about effects from iron elution.SOLUTION: An environmental improvement material for a sea area of the invention uses slag derived from pretreatment of molten iron, generated in desiliconization and dephosphorization processes performed in a converter-type container, and contains 50 mass% or more of the slag derived from pretreatment of molten iron having a porosity of 10% or more, an alkalinity (CaO/SiO) of 0.5 or more and up to 2.0, and 10 mass% or more of total iron.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
