Disclosed are a system and method for remediation of contaminated solid. The system is installed on the roof of a building, and has a weeping tile embedded in a gravel layer; a drainage tile layer positioned above the gravel layer; a layer of contaminated soil positioned above the drainage tile layer having a weeping tile embedded therein in communication with the drainage tile layer; and a vegetative layer the penetrates the contaminated soil and leaches contaminates therefrom. The system and method described herein allows for remediation of brown-field sites without the cost associated with the landfill process and allowing the brown-field site to be developed into an income generating space. |
