The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling engine ignition of a hybrid vehicle. According to an embodiment of the invention, the method for controlling engine ignition of a hybrid vehicle, comprises: a step of determining whether an engine ignition condition is fulfilled, in which the engine is stopped; a step of slipping the engine clutch when the engine ignition condition is fulfilled; a step of calculating disturbance control input using a low-pass filter and a nominal reciprocal model based on a current speed of a motor while slipping the engine clutch; a step of calculating a motor torque instruction using driver request torque and the disturbance control input; a step of determining whether a condition for connecting an engine clutch is fulfilled while slipping the engine clutch; and a step of connecting the engine clutch when the condition for connecting an engine clutch is fulfilled. |
