<p>The method involves prohibiting fuel injection in a deactivated cylinder for operation of an internal combustion engine with the deactivated cylinder. An intake cam (40a) of intake valve (16a) is neutralized in vicinity of a high dead point of a piston at an end of an exhaust phase of the engine. An exhaust cam (44) of an exhaust valve (26a) is neutralized in vicinity of a dead bottom center of the piston at the end of intake phase of the engine. The cams are neutralized such that the valves are in a closed position. An independent claim is also included for a control device for intake and exhaust of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine.</p> |
