Raney Ag, containing up to 0.5% Al and up to 0.3% Ca, is produced by leaching Al and Ca from a ternary alloy of Ag, Al and Ca. The ternary alloy, which may consist of 70-90% Ag, 2-20% Al and 2-20% Ca, is ground to <200m and leached with a 5-36% by weight solution of HCl at room temperature. |
