951,771. Drivers' brake valves. MOGURT GEPJARMU KULKERESKEDELMI VALLALAT. May 3, 1960 [May 9, 1959], No. 15508/60. Heading F2F. A brake valve assembly for a braking system, has a casing 7 provided with a plurality of openings over each of which a fluid control valve 2 can be detachably affixed. Depression of pedal 1 rotates cam 11 to compress springs 6 through retainers 9 and tappets 8 to first engage members 4, carried by diaphragms 5, with valves 3 to disconnect brake pipes b, b 1 from atmosphere and then open valves 3 to supply compressed air from pipes a, a 1 to pipes b, b 1 , the valves moving to a lap position when the air and spring pressures on diaphragms 5 balance. In Fig. 2, not shown, the cam 11 controls three valves. In Fig. 3, the valve unit A is normally held open to supply compressed air to a trailer brake system; rotation of cam 11, closes valve unit A to vent the trailer system to cause trailer brake application, and then opens unit B to apply the tractor brakes. |
