Provided are a method and apparatus for operating a control in a terminal based on a remote control device, so that the problems that a current remote control device cannot perform various operations on a control conveniently and cannot meet the operation needs of a user is solved. The method comprises: acquiring a control management instruction sent from a remote control device, a control entering into a displacement control operation mode according to the control management instruction; identifying an operation instruction to the control in the terminal sent from the remote control device in the mode, wherein the operation instruction is used for moving the control in the terminal from an original position to a target position; and in response to the operation instruction, moving the control in the terminal from the original position to the target position. The present invention can perform various operations on a control in a terminal conveniently so as to meet the operation needs of a user.
