Provided are: a xanthine oxidase inhibitor containing, as an active ingredient, a compound represented by formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; an agent to improve endothelial function; and an agent suitable for the treatment and/or prevention of disorders relating to xanthine oxidase, such as gout and hyperuricemia, and disorders relating to disorders in endothelial function.
