摘要 A photonic crystal waveguide-based super-efficient compact cross-shaped circulator, comprising a cross-shaped crisscrossing photonic crystal waveguide having four ports. A square magneto-optical dielectric rod is arranged at the centre of the cross-shaped crisscrossing photonic crystal waveguide. Four square dielectric rods are respectively arranged at the four corners of the centre of the crisscrossing waveguide, corners of the four square dielectric rods being cut so that the four square dielectric rods become isosceles right-angled triangles having catheti equal to the side length of background square dielectric rods, so as to form corner dielectric rods. The corner dielectric rods coincide with or do not coincide with the left sides of grid point positions corresponding to the corner dielectric rods. The insertion loss of the circulator is 0.02dB - 1dB, and the degree of isolation of an isolation end and an input end of the circulator is greater than 14dB. The circulator has a small structural volume, a high degree of integration and a high electromagnetic wave transmission efficiency, facilitates integration and high-efficiency circulation, and may be widely applied to microwave, terahertz and optical communication wavebands.
