An application program installation method. The method comprises: a sending end acquires an execution instruction input for an executable file, wherein the executable file includes application installation information about a pre-set application program (S110); the sending end runs the executable file according to the execution instruction, extracts the application installation information about the pre-set application program from the executable file, and sends to a server installation package information and a first trigger instruction of the pre-set application program according to the application installation information, so as to make the server send the installation package information and a second trigger instruction to a receiving end corresponding to the sending end according to the first trigger instruction, and to make the receiving end install the pre-set application program according to the installation package information and the second trigger instruction (S120). Correspondingly, also disclosed is an application program installation apparatus. By adopting the method and the apparatus, when an application program is installed in a cross-platform manner, the application program can be automatically installed, thereby reducing user operations, and enhancing the user experience. |
