[Problem] To easily identify the relationship between: the value of a parameter that affects the water speed of a vessel; and the water speed of the vessel resulting from the parameter. [Solution] A vessel characteristics estimation device 9b comprising: a data output unit 6 that outputs a plurality of pieces of parameter data D1, D2, D3… that include, in each, both vessel propeller rotation speed data R1 and wind speed vector data VWD1, VWD2, VWD3, … for wind that could affect the vessel; and an estimation unit 12 that receives the plurality of pieces of parameter data D1, D2, D3… output from the data output unit 6, estimates, as vessel water speed vectors VWT1, VWT2, VWT3, …, values corresponding to each piece of parameter data D1, D2, D3…, and outputs these as first output values. Each piece of rotation speed data R1 is the same and each piece of wind speed vector data VWD1, VWD2, VWD3, … is different. |
