PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle controller capable of simply determining traffic jam of a road on which own vehicle is traveling.SOLUTION: A vehicle controller includes an image capture device to capture a color image of an area in front of own vehicle, and a traffic jam determining device to determine traffic jam if multiple lighting devices (brake lamp 236, tail lamp 238) provided on a rear part of a leading vehicle 102 are detected at different locations in a traveling direction of the own vehicle in the color image. If the traffic jam determining device determines traffic jam, a motor controller reduces outputs of drive motors driving target wheels that are front wheels or rear wheels to zero, and an inverter controller stops electric power supplied to inverters for the target wheels among inverters for the front wheels and the rear wheels.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
