The present invention addresses the problem of providing a recording/reconstruction method that ensures compatibility between different devices in terms of recording and reconstruction of data to and from a hologram disk, and a recording/reconstruction device. The recording/reconstruction device, which utilizes a hologram to record information to or reconstruct information from a recording medium in response to a recording request from outside, is equipped with: a recording/reconstruction unit for recording information to the recording medium or reconstructing information therefrom; and a system control unit for controlling running of the recording/reconstruction unit. The system control unit divides a recording area of the recording medium into multiple zones and generates, in at least one of the divided zones, a management data area for recording management data including address information pertaining to user data recording positions, and the recording/reconstruction unit records the management data to the management data area when recording the user data into the respective divided zones. |
