PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten starting time as the entire printing system since a printer controller omits a device information acquisition process when a printer starts at a high speed.SOLUTION: A printing system comprises: a printer controller that generates image data according to a print job received from an external device; and a printer that is connected to the printer controller and prints using image data. In a printing system, the printer includes control means for shifting to a suspending state in which power is supplied to the main memory of the printer or a power-off state in which supply of power to the main memory is stopped. The printer controller comprises acquisition means configured to acquire information about the printer from this printer if the printer starts from a power-off state when the printer controller starts from a power-off state, and not to acquire information about the printer from this printer if the printer starts from a suspending state and using a work condition stored in the main memory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
