Examples relate to a light-emitting device, a method for manufacturing a light-emitting device, a light-emitting device package, and a lighting system. The light-emitting device according to the examples may comprise: a first semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type of a first concentration; a second semiconductor layer of a first conductivity type of a second concentration on the first semiconductor layer; a third semiconductor layer on the second semiconductor layer, the third semiconductor layer comprising pits; an active layer on the third semiconductor layer; and a semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type on the active layer.
