PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic optical fiber cable which can achieve all of the fire retardancy, the heat resistance, and the pistoning characteristic in higher levels.SOLUTION: A plastic optical fiber cable 10 includes at least a plastic optical fiber wire 16 having one or two or more cores 12, and a sheath layer 14 formed on the outer peripheries of the cores 12 and constituted of at least one layer; and a coating layer 18 formed on the outer periphery of the plastic optical fiber wire 16 and composed of a polyethylene resin composition. After the plastic optical fiber cable of 1 m is rested for one hour at 100°C, the pistoning is 0.5 mm or less. Additionally, the plastic optical fiber cable 10 is of satisfying the UL standard VW-1 (rating 90°C).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
