PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibodies targeting complement protein C5 and compositions and methods of use thereof.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody that comprises a heavy chain CDR1 comprising a specific amino acid sequence, a heavy chain CDR2 comprising a specific sequence and a heavy chain CDR3 comprising a specific sequence, as well as a light chain CDR1 comprising a specific sequence, a light chain CDR2 comprising a specific sequence and a light chain CDR3 comprising a specific sequence, and binds to C5 protein.
