摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of being improved in acceleration response.SOLUTION: An engine includes: a high-pressure supercharger 60; a supercharger rotation speed sensor 55 which detects the rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60; a bypass valve 22 which increases or decreases the rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60; and an ECU 50 which controls the bypass valve 22 so that the rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60 reaches a stationary-time supercharger rotation speed Nts (or transient-time supercharger rotation speed Ntt). The ECU 50 includes a stationary-time supercharger rotation speed map Fs for calculating a target rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60 at a stationary time and a transient-time supercharger rotation speed map Ft for calculating a target rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60 at a transient time, and controls the bypass valve 22 so that when the absolute value of a difference between the rotation speed of the high-pressure supercharger 60 and the stationary-time supercharger rotation speed Nts based upon the stationary-time supercharger rotation speed map Fs is equal to or larger than a predetermined value &Dgr;Nt, the rotation speed reaches the transient-time supercharger rotation speed Ntt based upon the transient-time supercharger rotation speed map Ft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
