The present invention relates to a technology in which an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver (e.g. a china mobile multimedia broadcasting (CMMB) receiver) can precisely estimate a channel and, more particularly, to a technology in which the OFDM receiver can precisely estimate the channel without an error even when being placed in a single frequency network (SFN) receiving environment having a long delay time. A channel estimation method of an OFDM receiver of the present invention comprises: a first step of dividing an OFDM signal into a synchronization (SYNC) symbol and an OFDM symbol; a second step of obtaining channel profile information (hereafter, referred to as SYNC channel profile information) from a channel impulse response (CIR) of the SYNC symbol; a third step of obtaining the channel profile information (hereafter, referred to as OFDM channel profile information) from the CIR of the OFDM symbol; and a fourth step of removing an image channel profile from the OFDM channel profile information by using the SYNC channel profile information.
