Provided are a battery state-of-charge (SOC) estimation method and a system thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the SOC estimation method comprises the following steps of: calculating a battery loss by calculating internal resistance of a battery; calculating a battery power by using a loaded power and the battery loss; and estimating the SOC of the battery based on the battery power. Thus, the accuracy of the battery SOC estimation can be guaranteed without adding a temperature sensor.
