The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for calculating a wind load considering a topographic factor. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for calculating a wind load includes: an information collecting unit collecting location and height information of multiple points within a target area; a target area setting unit setting a target point by using the location and height information, and setting an area having a preset shape and size around the target point as the target area; and a peak height calculating unit calculating a height of a peak to calculate a wind load applied to a structure, by reducing a height of a ground surface located on a line passing through a point where the peak of the target area and the structure are located from the height of the peak of the target area. According to the present invention, the apparatus and method for calculating a wind load can reflect the influence of topography on winds quantitatively and rationally. |
