摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably, stably ignite and burn injection fuel and improve combustion efficiency.SOLUTION: A injection hole 21a of an injection valve 20 of a direct-fuel-injection internal combustion engine 10 is disposed in an upper wall surface of a combustion chamber CC in generally a central portion of the combustion chamber CC. A spark generation portion 30a of an ignition plug 30 is disposed near the injection hole 21a. Part of fuel injected from the injection valve 20 passes through the neighborhoods of the spark generation portion 30a. A control unit (electronic control unit) changes the penetration force of the injected fuel by changing a maximum value of a lift amount of a valve element of the injection valve 20 when controlling the injection valve 20 to execute the fuel injection. Furthermore, the control unit changes fuel end timing of fuel injection executed just before ignition timing (previous injection) so that time from the injection end timing of the previous injection to the ignition timing becomes longer as the maximum value of the lift amount of the valve body is smaller in the previous injection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
