PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic treatment agent which prevents deposition of calcium and the like on earthenware such as toilet pans and wash stands installed in wet areas and also makes oily stains, which may cause proliferation of germs and odors, easier to be cleaned and, thereby, can decrease the number of times of cleaning, and to provide a hydrophilic treatment method.SOLUTION: There is provided a hydrophilic treatment coating composition which, after treating a surface layer containing an inorganic compound with a silane coupling agent containing a radical reactive functional group, is reacted with the radical reactive functional group of the silane coupling agent. The composition comprises: a hydrophilic compound containing a radical reactive functional group and an alkali metal salt of a sulfonic acid group, and not containing a hydrophilic part other than end portions of a molecular chain nor a branched chain; a radical polymerization initiator; and a compatibilizer having polarity.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
