The present invention relates to a composition for detecting an epithelial cell growth factor receptor gene mutation and a kit containing the same and, more specifically, to: a primer and a probe set composition for detecting an epithelial cell growth factor receptor gene mutation; a kit for detecting an EGFR gene mutation, containing the composition; and a RUO kit for detecting an EGFR gene mutation, containing a part of the primer/probe set of the composition of the present invention. A system of the present invention is an automated process and can predict and diagnose responsiveness to a therapeutic agent for the prognosis of a cancer patient, and thus can be used for the purpose of presenting a clue about the future direction of treatment, including a decision about the need for administering an anticancer therapeutic agent.
