The invention relates to a facility including a moving line (1) with an intake (11) and an outlet (13) passing through a station for fitting sleeves (2). The sheath (G) is supplied by a feeder (41) for supplying a sleeve cutting station (3). A transfer unit (5) picks up the sleeves (M), opens them and transfers them to the fitting unit (7), which stretches the sleeves and fits them on the products. The transfer unit comprises an endless belt conveyor running under the plane of the moving line (1) and the fitting unit is made up of an endless belt conveyor running above the transfer conveyor.
