PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting a rope-form pattern which is excellent in the versatility of use.SOLUTION: When an area on FB where a first stitch row 1 and a second stitch row 2 are arranged is defined as a crossing area, the following steps α to δ are performed. In the step α, the first stitch row 1 is gradually moved to a base part b2 side on the other side, and stitch rows b1, b2 and 1 other than the second stitch row 2 are knitted. In the step &bgr;, empty needles are formed within the knitting width of the first stitch row 1. In the step γ, the stitches of the second stitch row 2 are distributed to empty needles within the crossing area on the FB, and the stitch rows b1, b2 and 2 other than the first stitch row 1 are knitted. In the step δ, while the coexistence of the stitches of the first stitch row 1 and the stitches of the second stitch row 2 is eliminated, the stitch rows b1, b2 and 2 other than the first stitch row 1 are knitted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
