A method and device for power saving during shooting. The method comprises: detecting whether a shooting device enters a shooting state; and if yes, controlling a preview screen to switch between an on state and an off state during shooting. By means of the method and device in embodiments of the present invention, the shooting state of the shooting device can be determined, and when it is determined that the shooting device enters the shooting state, the preview screen can be controlled to switch between the on state and the off state, thereby avoiding power consumption due to the fact that the preview screen is kept on for a long time, and thus achieving the purpose of power saving during shooting.
