[Problem] There is a need for a technology that enables operations to be easily performed around the ear. [Solution] The presently disclosed invention provides an information processing apparatus characterized by comprising a detection unit that remotely detects movements of an object that is present around the ear of a user. Through the presently disclosed invention, it is possible to remotely detect the movements of an object via the detection unit, so the movements of the object, for example, movements of the hand of a user, can be detected. Accordingly, operations around the ear can be performed easily, though of course, the effects obtainable from the presently disclosed invention are not limited to performing said operations.
