PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS AND RELATED TECHNIQUES

Photovoltaic systems and related techniques are provided. A method for commissioning a photovoltaic (PV) system may include obtaining data describing an arrangement of two or more components of the PV system; performing a test of the PV system, wherein performing the test includes determining whether the PV system complies with at least one PV system criterion based, at least in part, on at least a portion of the data describing the arrangement of the two or more components of the PV system; and in response to determining that the PV system complies with the at least one PV system criterion, activating the PV system and/or notifying a user of the PV system that the PV system complies with the at least one PV system criterion. The method may further include sending information associated with the PV system to a regulatory entity and/or an operator of an electrical grid.

A cable assembly for interconnecting a set of photovoltaic panels and circuitry of a direct current (DC) network for delivering power generated by the set of photovoltaic panels to a premises electrical system of a premises, the DC network being connected to and controlled by a premises photovoltaic system controller, the cable assembly comprising:
a power bus, the power bus comprising a positive bus and/or a negative bus; and a plurality of control circuits integrated with the power bus, each of the plurality of control circuits being configured to be paired at least to one of the set of photovoltaic panels to control that panel and connect that panel to the power bus, each of the plurality of control circuits comprising:
a power bus connection to connect the control circuit to the power bus;at least one panel cable to connect the control circuit to the paired panel of the set of photovoltaic panels, the at least one panel cable comprising a panel power connection; andat least one switch to selectively connect the paired panel to the power bus at least in part by selectively connecting the panel power connection to the power bus.
