Disclosed are a method and device for terminal authentication for use in a mobile communication system. The method comprises: an authentication terminal acquires first authentication information transmitted by a terminal, where the terminal is used for acquiring first credential information inputted by a user and for determining the first authentication information on the basis of the first credential information, and the first credential information is information successfully verified by target software; the authentication terminal verifies the terminal on the basis of the first authentication information; when the terminal is successfully authenticated by the authentication terminal on the basis of the first authentication information, a mobile communication network authorizes the terminal to access the mobile communication network. By means of the present invention, solved is the problem in the related art in which a SIM card restricts development of thin and lightweight terminals. |
