This imaging device (1000) is provided with the following: a lens group comprising lenses (1); a lens frame (2) that holds said lens group; a base (3) that holds said lens frame (2); an imaging element (4) that has an imaging area (4a); and a compression coil spring (6) that prescribes the position of the lens frame (2) relative to the imaging element (4) so as to keep the optical axis (L1) of the lens group perpendicular to the imaging area (4a) of the imaging element (4). The imaging-element (4) side of the lens frame (2) has an orthogonal surface (2b) that is orthogonal to the optical axis (L1) of the lens group. The compression coil spring (6) keeps said orthogonal surface (2b) in surface contact with an area that surrounds and is parallel to the imaging area (4a) of the imaging element (4).
